Today, Manitoba added 23,325 hectares of lands and waters to its protected areas network by expanding the boundaries of Whiteshell Provincial Park and increasing protection of areas within the original boundaries.
Province to spend $20M upgrading Whiteshell park
The province will spend more than $20 million during the next five years to spruce up Whiteshell Provincial Park. The West Hawk Lake town site will be redeveloped, campgrounds will be improved throughout the park and a goose sanctuary visitor centre will be expanded to accommodate large groups such as from schools.
