The Pinawa Heritage Walk offers a unique opportunity to explore the natural beauty and rich history of the Pinawa area. This scenic trail meanders through mixed forests, granite outcrops, and picturesque views of the Pinawa Channel. Highlights include the historic Pinawa Dam, Manitoba’s first hydroelectric station, and the impressive 54-meter Pinawa Suspension Bridge, perfect for breathtaking photographs. Visitors can also enjoy serene river views, local wildlife, and peaceful spots for reflection along the trail.

The route is part of the larger Pinawa Trail network, which connects the Pinawa Dam Provincial Heritage Park to the Seven Sisters Generating Station. It is an integral segment of the Borders to Beaches Trail, which stretches from Manitoba’s eastern border to the shores of Lake Winnipeg. Along the way, hikers can experience the charming town of Pinawa, with its sandy beach, inviting lagoons, and additional trails.

This trail is suitable for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels, offering year-round activities like hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.   • Bathrooms: Yes, modern outhouses in the parking lot.
  • Parking: Yes, large parking lot. $10 to park in the summer, free other times.
  • Dogs: Must be leashed.
