Nature Club Comments
"I love hiking with CPAWS. This is a great way to explore new places for me. The facilitators are always so friendly and encourage people to explore and set their own pace for walking the trails. I would definitely not have found these trails to explore on my own. I learned about a new birding app and made good use of my own plant identification app to identify some of the plants along the way. This is how you get to know Manitoba biodiversity!"
“It was a lovely event, on a lovely evening in a lovely location. Our facilitator absolutely sparkled with enthusiasm and love for nature. She was quite knowledgeable and engaging, yet humble. I learned a lot about identifying our native tree species. Something that really touched my heart was the precious land acknowledgement that started us off, where we acknowledged our indigenous peoples, the treaties, and also our own human connection to the land. The whole event had a theme of encouraging our individual relationship to nature - which I truly appreciated. I will definitely attend some future events. Thank you!
“CPAWS Manitoba organizes amazing public events. Hikes and cross country skiis that get newcomers and returning participants safely and enjoyably out into nature in all seasons. Nature hikes and walks into the multitude of diverse ecosystems we have in Manitoba so we can learn more to better enjoy and protect nature. Events where we can contribute to protecting nature directly including seed gathering in the Tall Grass Prairie. Workshops that help us learn the skills and information that we need to get into nature safely by ourselves."
