By Juliana, Social Media and Content Assistant

CPAWS Manitoba believes caring for the planet starts right here in our backyards, neighbourhoods, and our larger communities. There are plenty of ways to connect with nature, care for the planet, and celebrate Earth Day on your own, with your family, or in your community.

Earth Day is on Wednesday, April 22, and this year we’re inviting you to get your hands a little dirty or get a little crafty and remember every small act of kindness to nature matters.

We’ve rounded up a bunch of Earth Day events from our amazing friends across the city. Here are just eight ways you can celebrate Earth Day 2026 in Winnipeg!

8. Sign a Postcard for Healthy Lands and Waters

Help protect lands and waters by letting decision-makers know you care. Sign a postcard and send a message to your government officials about why nature matters. You can do it in under two minutes at cpawsmb.org/campaigns.

Respect Our Earth, Lands, and Wildlife

Explore a local trail, tend a native plant, or take two minutes to sign a postcard to let your government officials know how much healthy nature matters to you. Whether you’re six or sixty, a seasoned conservationist or simply someone who enjoys a walk outside, there’s a place for you in conservation. Let the joy and connection you feel this Earth Day become the momentum Manitoba needs to protect our wild spaces today, and for future generations.

This blog was made possible through the generous support of the National Audubon Society. We’re grateful for their partnership, collaboration, and shared commitment to protecting the lands, waters, and wildlife we all cherish.
