Take a stand for wetlands

The Manitoba Election is in 77 days. We have lost 4305 wetland acres in Manitoba since October 4, 2010.

Now is the time to take a stand

In Manitoba we are confronted by unprecedented levels of flooding and overwhelming water quality problems in our lakes and rivers. We are also confronted by the knowledge that we are losing the wetlands that help to reduce flood damage, improve water quality and filter excess nutrients thereby decreasing the frequency and severity of algal blooms. In fact we are losing on average 15 acres of wetlands a day in southwest Manitoba alone.

Ducks Unlimited Canada invites you to watch our video, “Take a Stand for Wetlands”, which describes the economic, societal and environmental impacts that our recent research on wetland loss has uncovered.

Take a stand for wetlands.
